Hartland College’s Statement on
Liberty of Conscience
Statement on Liberty of Conscience
Jesus stated that we ought to render to Caesar what is his and to God what is His (Matt 22:15-22). Within that context, Hartland College upholds the inalienable right of every individual to worship, to express their beliefs, or to make decisions regarding their health and wellbeing according to the dictates of his or her conscience as guided by the Bible and Spirit of Prophecy. No person or power (either religious or governmental) has the right to compel or decide for another person in matters of conscience. Regarding matters of health, we respect the God-given right of every person to follow their personal convictions to make the choices that best meet their individual health needs, uphold truth, and bring honor to God.
