Due to a change in circumstances, we are having two different speakers for our Winter Convocation.
Pastor Jorge Baute joined the Carolina Conference in the summer of 2019. Before returning to Southeast, he served as the district pastor in Hayden, Idaho of the Upper Columbia Conference, and as a teacher at Ouachita Hills Academy and College, located in Arkansas. Prior to that, he served as a pastor in the Kansas-Nebraska Conference. He has also served as Chaplain and Bible teacher at Enterprise Academy in the Kansas-Nebraska Conference. He and his wife, SueEllen, have two young adult children—Joshua and Sarah.
Hensley Moorooven currently serves as Undersecretary of the General Conference, based in Silver Spring, Maryland, USA. He is an ordained minister of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and a teacher at heart. Hensley enjoys teaching and preaching God’s Word clearly and simply. A native of Mauritius, he is happily married to Valérie, a trained social worker and primary school teacher who hails from Réunion Island. They have two girls, Tania and Amandine. His seven-word personal mission statement is: Seek God passionately and serve Him incarnationally.
