I was born in Romania into a Christian home. Unfortunately, my biblical upbringing was blended with family dysfunction and abuse. After my parents divorced, I began to drift towards the world, where I experienced its misery and emptiness. But God found His lost sheep. I accepted Christ when I was 15 and was baptized into the Seventh-day Adventist Church at 17, yet with much opposition from my family.
When I learned about Hartland College, I was convinced that this school follows God’s plan of education. I applied to Hartland in 2020 while the pandemic was raging on both sides of the North Atlantic. Though the US consulate and the airport in Bucharest were closed, and most European travelers were prohibited from entering the US, God’s promises did not fail me. Everything reopened just in time for me to get my visa and come to Hartland.
What I appreciate most about my student experience is the Bible knowledge I’m gaining, the friendships I’ve developed, and the work experience I get in the Events Department. Also, I’ve seen God working on my character, teaching me to rest at His feet and be more flexible and loving with the people around me.
I chose Elementary Education because I feel called to work with orphans in Kenya, teaching them and helping to fight human trafficking. Kenya’s orphans are very vulnerable. My vision is to save as many children as I can from exploitation, and give them an education for a better future. My deep desire is that they can see the true character of their heavenly Father and become His children here and in the New Jerusalem.
I’m so grateful for the Missionary Training Fund! It gives me the chance to be equipped as a qualified teacher for the mission field and to draw nearer to Jesus. I wouldn’t be here without the help of people like you. What’s even more exciting is that your gifts will blossom into smiles, hugs, and changed lives for the children I’ll be ministering to. May God richly bless you and your giving so you may see its fruit in eternity!
