I was working as a receptionist in Australia whilst paying off a mortgage and felt restless and unfulfilled with my life. I felt a strong desire to work for God rather than for a secular business. So I prayed for nine months for God to show me what He wanted me to do.
Suddenly I became very ill. One night when I couldn’t sleep, I watched a Hartland graduation video where I listened to Pastor Eric Betts’ powerful, inspiring graduation speech. As I listened to him and other graduates, I knew this was the spiritual experience I longed for. At that very moment, I heard a voice in my ear saying, “This is where you must go.” I had no doubt it was the voice of the Holy Spirit. My prayers for direction had finally been answered.
God had already placed a desire in my heart to study nutrition, so when I looked at Hartland’s curriculum, I immediately knew that health ministry was for me.
I loved being part of a student body from different parts of the world and building friendships with like-minded believers. I especially appreciated Hartland’s focus on Christ’s mission, true education, and training missionaries. Being introduced to literature evangelism, I witnessed miracles before my eyes. I experienced what it means to be “colaborers together with God.” I found purpose and fulfillment through sharing truth-filled literature with those in darkness.
After leaving Hartland I worked in two health retreats—one in the US and one in Australia. But I couldn’t forget the blessing of literature evangelism. I realized that God had given me a talent for this work and many wonderful experiences! I felt that no other ministry compared to the excitement and fulfillment of working in the front lines of God’s vineyard. As I returned to literature evangelism, God also opened the way for me to be a Bible worker.
My greatest passion is to share my faith with those who don’t know God and bring those in darkness into His marvelous light. I’m now serving as Bible worker and team leader in literature ministry for the South Australian Conference. I want to saturate South Australia with truth-filled literature. Combined with the entering wedge of our health message, I want to “reach all people in all places” with the three angels’ messages.
