Last week on Thursday, January 19, 2017, the General Conference officers met with the officers and union presidents of the North American Division to “discuss unity in mission as it relates to church governance and women’s ordination.” This meeting was a follow-up from last year’s annual council vote to implement a reconciliation process with church entities that were in non-compliance with the world church’s voted policies and fundamental beliefs. The Adventist Review reported that it was a good meeting with “candid and open discussion and frank interaction. The group agreed that there will be ongoing consultations to seek positive solutions to the challenging issues that the church is facing.” Let us continue to pray for our church leaders, that they may be humble and open to God’s leading through His Word and the promptings of His Holy Spirit.
