Santo’s Evangelistic Training Institute’s missionary program has been running since February 2013. We have sent 12 missionaries to different states in Brazil and one to the country of Colombia. This month we would like to highlight the experience of one such graduate named Esteban Builes. Esteban is 25 years old, and originally from Medellin, Colombia.
“I am very grateful for the opportunity I had to spend four months at SETI last year. It was the beginning of my Christian experience, where I experienced conversion and was able to prepare myself for the mission field.
“Here is what has happened to me after I left. When I returned to Medellin, Colombia, I prayed that the Lord would open doors for me to work for Him while living in the country. A few days later I received a phone call from the principal of Instival Seventh-day Adventist School in the city of Puerto Lopez. This is a boarding high school that is located in the country and where the students are involved in agriculture. It is a school run by the denomination and that seeks to implement many good Biblical principles.
“The principal asked that I come work with them at the beginning of this year (January 2014). I saw that only the Lord could have opened this door, so I accepted the call. It has been a wonderful experience both for me and for the young people. The things I learned at SETI have been a great help to me, and I am studying the Bible with the students. Especially has the class “Conversion and Righteousness by Faith” been helpful in working with young minds. I have the opportunity to share God’s Word with the students in many different ways. I have also been able to help and preach at the local Adventist church. All have been accepting the messages very well!
God is helping me to get along wonderfully with the students, teachers, and administrators. I have seen how Christ’s methods alone give true success, and I have had the joy of sharing what the Lord has taught me. The work has slowly been growing, and God is teaching me how to relate to all classes of people. God has strengthened me for this work every day, and I plan on staying here until He clearly shows me otherwise. My sister and I are praying about going on a mission trip to the Middle East. Please pray that God will show us if this is His will.”
Thank you for your support to train God’s people to do a great work for our Lord Jesus in South America. Your donations will be directed to SETI’s Outreach Department. At the time of this writing, staff and students are working in a district with no Adventist presence, and our ultimate goal is to establish a Seventh-day Adventist Church there.
