Restoration: The Sanctuary and Medical Ministry

Featuring
Dr. John Kelly passionately shares scientific evidence for treating and preventing disease through lifestyle. He was founding president of American College of Lifestyle Medicine, the medical specialty society for clinicians who use therapeutic lifestyle interventions to treat and manage disease. John serves as medical director for an outpatient lifestyle program treating the causes of chronic disease, and practices lifestyle medicine in Rocky Mount, Virginia.

Jesse Ravencroft, originally from Oregon, now works in Georgia as manager of W. D. Frazee Sermons. Jesse graduated from Hartland in 2003 as a Pastoral Evangelism major. He is also a certified massage instructor and currently a practicing licensed massage therapist. He teaches massage at Wildwood and the therapeutic massage course at Hartland. He enjoys giving Bible studies, doing medical missionary work, studying prophecy, being out in nature, and reading history.

“What about my kids?” you may ask. We have good news! There will be programs available for the children and youth (ages 3–17). Guest speaker, Jesse Ravencroft, will be sharing messages in the youth program (ages 13–17). We hope to see you and your family there!

Our on-campus lodging is very limited. Therefore, guests MUST call ahead and secure lodging with a deposit equal to the first night’s fee. Guests must provide their own bedding and towels. To secure your lodging, contact the events coordinator at 540–672–1996 ext 232.

Rustic Cabin* (one large room sleeps 10, has ceiling fan, heat in the cold months, and electricity) — $10 per night per person
RV or Tent Sites* (with water and electricity) — $20 per night

*A shower house is provided for those in cabins and tents.

Meals (we serve breakfast and lunch only)
Adults $8.00, Children ages 5–12 $6.00, Children under age 5 are free with adult meal purchase


Tickets are required for all meals and are nonrefundable. 

Purchase tickets by calling 540–672–1996 ext 232. Meals are prepay only. We serve vegan meals, which may be prepared with nuts, nonirritating spices, herbs, and gluten. We are not able to cater to special diets.

Children/Youth
We offer programs for children and youth. Young people under 18 must have an adult take responsibility for their safety and behavior. Swimming, boating, or playing in the lakes and ponds is prohibited. Bicycles and skateboards are prohibited. This is for everyone’s safety.

Pets
Pets should be kept quiet and not allowed to roam freely. Pets are not allowed in any campus building. A special pet patch is located near the camping area. Please clean up after them.

Hartland Institute runs a small farm which helps supply fresh produce for our cafeteria and enables Hartland College students to learn practical skills. It helps many of them to pay their way through school. We invite you to our farm’s grand opening as we begin to serve the nearby communities in a more personal way, providing them with fresh and wholesome produce.

Grant Leitma, PhD, has been teaching at Washington Adventist University in Takoma Park, Maryland since 1982, and chairs the Department of Psychology. He lives with his wife Terry and their three children in Frederick, Maryland.

Speakers

Pastor Lincoln Steed Pastor Lincoln Steed is the Associate Director of Public Affairs and Religious Liberty for the North American Division of the General Conference. He is also the editor of Liberty magazine, a religious liberty journal that argues the rights of faith and practice for all. Elder Steed has long maintained that our religious liberties and our good relationship with society at large are inextricably entwined. He has traveled extensively promoting temperance and religious liberty issues.

Pastor Norberto Restrepo Sr., father of Hartland’s President, is co-founder of Las Delicias mission centers in Venezuela and Colombia. He served for 20 years in denominational employment as a pastor, union departmental director, and university religion professor. For the past 32 years he has served in self-supporting ministry promoting country living, education, and righteousness by faith.

Pastor Juan Campos is a distinguished evangelist in Colombia, South America. He is an author and has contributed to self-supporting work in Colombia and other countries for over two decades.
